The Mobile rota editor is a simplified tool designed to give you the flexibility to manage rotas on the go. Accessible directly from the Rotaready mobile app, it includes all the essential features needed to build, edit, and manage your rotas efficiently.

You can find the Mobile rota editor tab via the main navigation in the app, provided you have the necessary permissions.

The key features include:

  • View your rota in a streamlined 3-day format

  • Easily add, edit, and delete shifts

  • Rearrange shifts with drag and drop

  • Search, sort, and filter the rota to customise your view

  • Publish your rota or mark it for approval

  • Track total hours and wages in real-time

❗️ While the Mobile rota editor is packed with essential tools, we recommend using the main Rota editor on the Rotaready web platform for more advanced functionality when building complex rotas.

Managing shifts

To add shifts:

Tap the + icon at the top of the screen and select Add shift, or tap on any blank space for an employee.

To edit shifts:

Tap on a shift to modify its details. To reassign a shift, long-press on it to activate the drag-and-drop tool, then drag it to another employee.

To delete shifts:

Double-tap on a shift and select Delete shift from the options.

💡Tip: Double-tap on a shift for quick actions, such as deleting it or moving it to the open shifts row.

Publishing and marking a rota for approval

To publish, mark for approval, or revert a rota to draft, navigate to the relevant week and tap the rota status label at the top of the screen. Then select the appropriate option. If your rota spans multiple weeks, ensure you select the specific week that you want to action.

Tracking hours and wages

To view the hours and wages for a rota, navigate to the relevant week and tap the + icon at the top of the screen, then choose Hours/wages. If your rota covers multiple weeks, select the desired week. Here, you can view key rota metrics, including scheduled hours, wage costs, and wage percentage, as well as the sales forecast (if provided).

Find more information about your hours and wage costs.
